Emmanuel Macron at 8 p.m. on TF1 Tuesday: What should we expect from this "moment of explanation"?
The President of the Republic will be a guest on TF1 on Tuesday for a special two-hour program. He will be questioned by numerous personalities and could decide whether to hold a referendum.

A major political event will take place on Tuesday evening. Emmanuel Macron will be the guest of our colleagues at TF1 , starting at 8:10 p.m., for a special two-hour live broadcast. This is the first "confrontation" of its kind since his re-election. It's an opportunity for the head of state to discuss national and international news at length.

He will also be questioned by public figures such as Sophie Binet, general secretary of the CGT, particularly regarding pension reform, but also the liberal lobbyist, Agnès Verdier-Molinié on public finances), the mayor of Béziers, Robert Ménard on insecurity), Salomé Saqué, left-wing essayist on the situation of young people)...

Emmanuel Macron will also be questioned, via videotapes, by other representatives of civil society: Cécile Duflot, former minister and head of the Oxfam association on the place of inheritance in French society, Charles Biétry, former journalist suffering from Charcot's disease on the end of life, but also the first YouTuber in France, Tibo InShape should also appear to question the Head of State on the issue of sport in schools.

And we should also know more about his desire to launch a referendum, a possibility he mentioned in his 2025 New Year's address to the French people. The President will answer the question! the Elysée Palace told RMC's political service.

An advisor to Emmanuel Macron makes no secret of the fact: "Meetings have been taking place on the subject for several weeks." Discussions with ministers, too.

One idea is emerging: consulting the French people on not one, but several issues. But then, on what topic? Work? Young people and screens? Territorial reorganization? Or even the end of life, the text of which is being readmitted to the Assembly this Monday?

The Prime Minister's suggestion on public finances does not seem to be at the top of the pile.

A Macronist figure warns: "It risks being disappointing and unclear, as it has been for the past two years." Emmanuel Macron, however, hopes to make this sequence "an important moment of explanation" against a backdrop of international conflicts.

"There are still two years of action left," said one advisor, with "the urgency to act until the last quarter of an hour."
